Barry Lewis, appointed CEO of ALEC last year, has been a pivotal figure in the company’s evolution over the past two decades. His leadership has been integral to the company’s transformation into a powerhouse in the construction industry, particularly in the Middle East. Throughout his tenure, Barry has been at the helm of numerous landmark projects that have redefined the region’s skyline. Among these are the Dubai Airport Concourses A and D, the ultra-luxurious Bulgari Hotel and Resort, the towering One Za’abeel, and the groundbreaking SeaWorld Abu Dhabi, each of which showcases ALEC’s capability to deliver projects that are both architecturally stunning and logistically complex, while also being environmentally sustainable.

As CEO, Barry is focused on driving ALEC into its next growth phase, with a strategic emphasis on expanding into new markets and diversifying the company’s service offerings. Under his guidance, ALEC is making significant inroads into Saudi Arabia, a key growth market, particularly with high-profile projects like the Qiddiya Speed Park, a part of Saudi Arabia’s ambitious Vision 2030 initiative. This expansion, under Barry’s strategic vision, is increasing ALEC’s regional presence and positioning the company as a leading player in the Kingdom’s rapidly evolving construction landscape, instilling optimism about the company’s future growth.

Barry’s vision for ALEC also strongly focuses on innovation, particularly in modular construction and data centre solutions. The company is pioneering modular construction techniques, which streamline the building process, reduce waste, and increase efficiency. This innovative approach is evident in the company’s recent projects, which feature cutting-edge design and construction technologies, reinforcing the company’s reputation for pushing the boundaries of what’s possible in the construction industry.

In addition to these initiatives, Barry is enhancing ALEC’s capabilities in the energy, oil & gas, and marine industries sector through its subsidiary, TARGET, which is now wholly owned by ALEC. This move is part of a broader strategy to diversify the company’s portfolio and strengthen its position in these critical sectors.

These professionals are skilled and embody the company’s culture of excellence and innovation. Their increasing numbers under Barry’s leadership instill confidence in ALEC’s ability to deliver on its ambitious project pipeline, which includes high-profile developments like the Dubai Creek Harbour, which will feature the world’s tallest tower and the expansion of the Dubai Expo 2020 site into a permanent legacy district.
