Power Hour 2022: Stuart Harrison, CEO at Emrill , Ranks 14th

Since stepping into the role of Emrill’s CEO in 2019, Stuart Harrison has spearheaded initiatives that have enabled the business to achieve year-on-year growth while prioritising the health, safety and wellbeing of Emrill’s employees and clients.

Celebrating 20 years of operations in the UAE, Emrill announced a 32 per cent increase in revenue and an 81 per cent increase in profitability in the first half of 2022. Servicing over 190 contracts, Emrill has achieved a contract retention rate of 82.26 per cent, demonstrating the effectiveness of its client-centric approach and commitment to providing innovative solutions and market-leading services.

Harrison is passionate about innovation and continuous improvement, and Emrill’s adaptability has been at the heart of the organisation’s success. In the last 12 months, Emrill has launched an efficiency-enhancing app for vertical communities, building on the success of its award-winning app for horizontal communities. Utilisation of the app has enabled the organisation to increase manpower efficiency by 20 per cent and reduce manual task supervision by 10 per cent. To enhance delivery of technical services, Emrill also launched the TechCompanion app. Utilised by over 2,000 technicians, engineers and supervisors, the app empowers Emrill’s employees to access and utilise data to drive efficiencies.

Under Harrison’s leadership, safety has remained a core pillar of Emrill’s business. The organisation has achieved over 23 million safe manhours across its contracts since the beginning of 2022. To further promote health, safety and wellness, Emrill launched ‘Safety By Choice – Not By Chance’. Since its launch, Emrill’s lost time frequency rate has decreased by 50 per cent, which is a clear sign that the programme is keeping Emrill’s people and clients safer than ever.

Building on this foundation of safety, Harrison embraces a holistic approach to employees’ development and wellbeing, promoting diversity and inclusivity across every level of the business. To expand its learning and development offering, Emrill achieved Continuing Professional Development (CPD) accreditation in 2021 and has gone on to have twelve courses accredited. Emrill also launched Masterminds, a knowledge-sharing programme developed to circulate relevant, credible and current knowledge, experience and expertise through masterclasses, enabling employees to connect with experienced and trusted subject matter experts. To prioritise employees’ wellbeing beyond their physical safety and education opportunities, Emrill launched ‘A Better You’. As part of this initiative, Emrill’s Employee Assistance Programme gives Emrill’s employees, and their families, access to mental health services and professionals.
