Veolia to develop hazardous liquid waste plant in Dubai

Dubai Municipality has contracted Veolia to develop a hazardous liquid waste treatment plant.

The agreement is a first of its kind in UAE, and aims to make Dubai ready for the anticipated increase in the quantity of hazardous liquid waste, as existing industries expand and new ones are set up, Veolia said in a statement.

Designed with various pretreatment systems each adapted to a specific type of hazardous liquid waste, the plant offers the necessary flexibility required for such waste.

It is expected to be commissioned by the end of 2017 and will be able to treat 200 m3/shift (3 shifts/day) of hazardous liquid waste, including acidic waste, alkaline waste, oily waste and wastewater.

Veolia did not reveal details of the value of the contract.
