International project management consultancy, Tracey Brunstrom & Hammond (TBH), which specialises in high-risk, large-scale and challenging projects, has appointed Paul Thornton as Director – Middle East for its UAE operation, focusing on the area of Construction Delay and Disruption.

Bringing with him 19 years of experience, including 14 years in the region, to the role and a background in successfully supporting the public and private sector as an expert in the discipline of project delays, Paul will be responsible for building on the company’s heritage as ‘Experts in Time’, as he works specifically on expert and claims work in the UAE and the wider Middle East.

Paul’s role will also see him work on the provision of written and oral expert opinion, assessing each case individually to ensure that the complexities of cases are handled sensitively. Paul brings with him oral testifying experience in arbitration and a wealth of knowledge when it comes to working on live projects. His approach is centred on implementing data-driven techniques to help clients simplify delay and disruption analysis to put forward clear and concise arguments.

Building further on the expertise TBH has in this area, the appointment is the first in a number of announcements set to take place over the next few months that cement the company’s long-term ambitions to bolstering its growth in the region.

Commenting on his appointment, Paul Thornton said: “I’m thrilled to be joining the team at TBH. One of the drivers for me to join TBH was the culture which has bred a loyal and capable team. TBH has been around since 1965 and their legacy of 3,000 expert appointments is almost unique in the planning field. Their reputation, strength and depth of the team is vast – and as experts in time, I am looking forward to building on my experience to help clients navigate delay and disruption disputes.”

Paul’s appointment solidifies our experience when it comes to being experts in Delay and Disputes, and he joins our strong team in the region to help take us to the next level.

We’re ambitious in our growth plans and are proud of our 55-year heritage that we’ve built up by becoming experts in our field. We are excited to have Paul join our team, and this part of our overall commitment to supporting our growth in the region.”
