St George, a proud member of the Berkeley Group, unveils Affinity House, the jewel in the crown of Phase 1 at Grand Union, the landmark new waterside development in North West London.
Grand Union will see the regeneration of the 22-acre former derelict Northfields Industrial Estate into a vibrant new canal-side mixed-use neighbourhood in Alperton that will provide a new place to live, work and relax and deliver much needed homes and jobs in the London Borough of Brent.
Launching on 02nd September 2019, Affinity House comprises a collection of contemporary Manhattan, one, two, and three-bedroom apartments with spacious private outdoor space for every home. Centered around private landscaped podium gardens with views along the Grand Union Canal, Affinity House also offers a 24-hour concierge and lounge for residents.
Affinity House will be the focal point of the first canal-side phase of Grand Union which forms part of the masterplan to reconnect the local area with the Grand Union Canal and River Brent by opening up previously inaccessible parts of these waterways to the local community. Set within a new canal-side destination for the local community Affinity House will offer a vibrant selection of waterside restaurants, cafes and local shopping as well as a commercial gym.
Tim Gawthorn, Sales and Marketing Director, St George, commented:
“We are delighted to unveil the new homes and amenities at Affinity House which form an important part of our vision to open up the Grand Union Canal and create a vibrant new waterside destination for North West London.
Grand Union provides much needed new homes, a wide-range of shops, restaurants and cafes, and plays a central role in Alperton’s evolution to become a great place to live and work in the capital.”
On completion, Grand Union will comprise a range of over 3,000 mixed-tenure one, two- and three-bedroom homes, of which over 1,000 will be affordable. The new development will provide an array of local amenities for the local area including a nursery, a health centre, and a convenience store. The 5,000 sq ft community centre will encompass a community garden and kitchens and provide workshops and flexible event spaces for existing and new residents.
Located on the southern part of the Grand Union site, next to the Old North Circular, the Generator will provide 135,000 sq ft of flexible workspace for a variety of light industrial businesses. Arranged over 6 levels, it will be the first of its kind in the UK.
The Generator sits at the heart of an employment strategy which will create over 650 jobs and apprenticeships at Grand Union, making it a truly mixed-use development where homes and jobs can successfully co-locate.
Grand Union is well-located with transport links providing access to central London through the Piccadilly line at Alperton, Bakerloo and Overground line at Stonebridge Park and proximity to the North Circular. There are a range of good schools in the local area including Alperton Community school, Lyon Park Primary School and St Joseph’s.
