Khansaheb unveils the UAE’s first environmentally green ductwork

Dubai-based contractor, Khansaheb, announced that the company has acquired an exclusive license to manufacture Spiralite in the UAE, which will be launched at The Big 5.

Spiralite is an energy-efficient ductwork system, which reduces the carbon footprint of any domestic, commercial, or industrial building since it results in substantial energy and operating cost savings on the subsequent operation of the heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) system.

The non-metal pre-insulated material used to create Spiralite ducts is 40% more energy-efficient than traditional metal ducts due to its virtually airtight construction and efficient shapes. Thus far, Spiralite has been installed in many projects in the UAE and around the world.

Abdulrahman A Khansaheb, Khansaheb Industries, commented: “Spiralite’s unique characteristics are in line with our company’s mission to serve the regional market by introducing the latest innovative technologies that meet the highest global standards of quality while also supporting the UAE’s sustainability goals. By introducing this offering, we aim to ensure that the UAE’s state-of-the-art infrastructure continues to rank amongst the most developed and advanced in the world. With the introduction of Spiralite, we are confident that this modern innovation will reduce the country’s carbon footprint and help lower utility expenses for residents and companies.”

He added: “The Middle East is seeing innovative advancements within the construction industry, with projects for mega-events such as the Expo 2020 in Dubai. At Khansaheb we are committed to supporting the UAE’s efforts in pioneering innovation whilst also building the future of the industry by implementing new technologies to help create a sustainable environment that benefits future generations.”

Spiralite ductwork is approved for use by major MEP consultants and is compliant with all the relevant building codes and local authority regulations.  Due to its environmental and sustainability credentials, it was adopted by Masdar, included in The Future Build portal and secured ADQCC Trustmark certification. Its use can, therefore, play a role in optimising performance standards and credit awards under the Estidama/Pearl, Dubai Municipality, BREEAM, LEED, and Green Star environmental assessment and rating programmes.
