Dubai Central Laboratory (DCL) of Dubai Municipality has awarded the first Cement Factory Conformity Mark Certificate, in accordance with the cement factory conformity marking system. The certificate was issued according to the approved international best practices and standards applied in this field as part of the Municipality’s efforts to expand conformity assessment services for construction products used in the Emirate of Dubai.
Through this new system for conformity assessment of construction products, including cement products, Dubai Municipality aims to confirm and support the quality of the construction sector, as cement is a key pillar in this sector, in accordance with the best international practices and technical specifications.
It is worth mentioning that DCL has subsequently developed three special rules for various cement products. The DCL is currently evaluating and granting conformity marks to a wide variety of other construction product factories, such as brick factories, rebar, thermal insulation, and ready-mixed concrete factories, solar water heater systems, dyes and adhesives, building facades, cement, concrete mixing additives, food products and other products.
