Cundall has announced the appointment of Scott McKeever in Dubai and Gary Dodds in Doha as Partners
Global multi-disciplinary engineering consultancy, Cundall, appoints Scott McKeever in Dubai and Gary Dodds in Doha as Partners. These strategic appointments mark a significant step in the continued growth and investment of the practice across the MENA region.
Scott McKeever joined Cundall in 2022 to lead the regional building services team, driving significant improvements in operational efficiency. He played a key role in launching Cundall’s Bengaluru office and spearheading the region’s work-sharing strategy. Appointed Country Director for the UAE in 2023, Scott has championed digitalisation and innovation, resulting in enhanced project delivery and long-term value for clients. With a strong track record of leading large multi-disciplinary teams and delivering major developments across the region, he brings invaluable expertise and strategic insight to the partnership.
Gary Dodds has been a key part of Cundall’s Doha team since 2016, bringing consistent leadership and technical excellence to the business. Prior to his appointment as Partner, Gary led Qatar’s structures team and has been Country Director since 2021. Gary has demonstrated exceptional resilience and foresight in navigating market challenges, strengthening client relationships, overseeing completion of major projects and expanding the local team with new services. A chartered structural engineer with a strong commitment to sustainable design, Gary’s leadership continues to elevate the technical and commercial performance of the business in Qatar.

Alongside Scott and Gary, other key regional appointments include Mario Saab, who is appointed as Director of Sustainability MENA. Over the past four years, Mario shaped and expanded Cundall’s MENA sustainability business in both scale and influence, building high-performing teams across four offices and delivering technical and commercial success. He has led industry-first achievements for clients such as Msheireb Properties in Qatar, Majid Al Futtaim in the UAE, and the National Housing Company in Saudi Arabia. In his expanded role, Mario will take on greater regional leadership responsibilities, continuing to drive Cundall’s mission to help clients achieve high-impact, performance-led environmental outcomes.
Fazel Bashir has also been appointed as Director of Structures, as Cundall scales its capabilities to meet the increasing demand for complex, large-scale developments across the region. Known for his deep technical expertise, hands-on leadership, and commitment to quality, Fazel will play a pivotal role in enhancing Cundall’s structural offering and delivering engineering excellence on landmark projects.
