Bulgari Resort and Residences celebrates safety milestone

Bulgari Resort and Residences Dubai recently exceeded 30 million safe work hours with no time lost to injuries since the project commenced in September 2014.

The project, which lies on a man made island off the Jumeirah coast, is set to be Dubai’s most exclusive residential community. The 1.7 million square foot master development will be home to 101 hotel rooms, 20 villas with private pools, 168 serviced one- to three-bed apartments, eight penthouses and 15 mansions.

Meraas is the devloper with Faithful+Gould as the project and programme management consultancy.

“Safety underpins Faithful+Gould’s core values, and we are firmly committed to maintaining a safe environment on each of our projects and in all our offices,” said Paul Doherty, Faithful+Gould’s UAE country director.

“Reaching this significant milestone during a fast track delivery programme demonstrates the high level of performance and commitment of all stakeholders and this is evidenced through this achievement and all the efforts to maintain the integrity of the work environment and meet the international standards for quality, health, safety, environment, and security at the worksites.”

Nigel Plumbridge, Faithful+Gould’s project director said: “With 5,500 workers on site each day, our project teams coordinate and chair weekly safety committee inspections and meetings. This is also supported by monthly director level safety walks, attended by the contractor, other consultants and the client. We have encouraged the contractors to be open and honest about safety performance and to always seek opportunities for further improvements.”
