Bridge over Dubai Canal 90 percent complete
Dubais Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) has completed over 90 percent of construction work on a new bridge over the Dubai Canal.
Work on the AED 177mn project to connect Al Khail Road with Financial Centre Road is expected to be completed by the end of this year.
The bridge consists of two lanes in one direction stretching 1,270 meters with width ranging from 11 to 15 meters.
Project works also include lighting as well as the shifting of impacted infrastructure services such as water, electricity, irrigation, drainage and communication lines.
The project is vital to accommodate the expansion of Dubai Mall to receive more than 100 million visitors per year.
The expansion includes construction of a Fashion Avenue beside the existing mall to add 75,000 square meters of floor space and 25,000 of car parking.
