Arcadis and Rockefeller aim to improve 100 cities’ resiliency

Arcadis and global NGO Rockefeller Foundation to work together to improve urban resiliency and make a significant impact on cities’ long-term prospects as they respond to the effects of mass urbanisation and climate change.

The MoU will ensure the entities’ 100 Resilient Cities Initiative helps selected city leaders to understand their short- and long-term resiliency planning challenges.

John Batten (top image), global cities director at Arcadis, will work directly with the Rockefeller Foundation to promote a resiliency roadmap, designed to equip cities with the necessary data to reduce risk.

Batten said: “Resiliency is becoming an ever-present topic and, by addressing it, cities can give themselves the edge when it comes to attracting investment and securing their natural and built assets.”

Along with other private, public and non-profit partners, Arcadis will be providing cities with the knowledge and resources they need to better tackle the demands and stresses they will continue to encounter.
