First-ever ‘Made in AFZ’ exhibition ends on a high note

The Ajman Free Zone (AFZ) has concluded its first-ever ‘Made in AFZ’ exhibition on a successful note following a remarkable participation from the free zone’s business community.

The three-day event which was held at AFZ’s headquarters earned wide acclaim and generated a strong turnout of visitors and served as an ideal platform for AFZ businesses to market their products and services and engage in possible partnerships within the local business community.

The exhibition attracted 30 participating entities, where various activities were held including promotional activities, presentations, four interactive workshops and four panel discussions, as well as launch of new products.

The event also paved the way for three signing of Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) and cooperation agreements between companies in AFZ. These include a new partnership between ‘Infinity Garment Manufacturing’ and ‘BP Socks Factory’, and between ‘Fine Care’ and ‘Dupharma’.

His Excellency Eng. Ali AlSuwaidi, Director General of Ajman Free Zone, noted the significant role of exhibition, not only in promoting the products and services, but also in boosting prospects for cooperation and collaboration between members of the business community, as well as with prospective partners.

“It provided a platform for companies to discuss current challenges in their respective sectors, explore emerging economic trends, and exchange ideas and experiences on ways to ensure the success of commercial and investment projects,” AlSuwaidi said.

He added: “The ‘Made in AFZ’ exhibition is part of our commitment to provide effective ways to enhance the growth and expansion of our business partners and provide them with the platform that would facilitate marketing of their products and solutions, enhance their access to markets, and encourage them to explore collaboration and exchange of experiences with other businesses. We are pleased with the outcome of this event, where we witnessed wide participation from AFZ-based companies, including the forging of new partnerships.”

Providing platforms for business and product promotion as well as forging partnerships are essential pillars of AFZ’s strategy to boost competitiveness, and support members of the local business community in achieving their expansion and growth plans.  The ‘Made in AFZ’ exhibition is the first of its kind in a series of similar events set to be held in the coming period.

Concluding, AlSuwaidi said: “AFZ will continue to launch initiatives that will drive commercial activities and stimulate engagement among the local business community, especially among startups and SMEs.

“This is in line with our goal of boosting trade and attracting more investments at the regional and international level and further strengthen AFZ’s position as a leading destination for business, and its support to national visions for development, which is focused on economic diversification at the local and federal levels.”
