Finnish Hesburger opens manufacturing centre in RAKEZ

Hesburger, a leading fast food chain in Finland and the Baltic countries, has established its fast food manufacturing subsidiary, Hes Pro Foods, in Ras Al Khaimah Economic Zone (RAKEZ)

Ramy Jallad, group chief executive officer of RAKEZ, RAK Free Trade Zone, and RAK Investment Authority, officially welcomed Anton Gladkih, general manager of Hes Pro Foods, to the economic zone during a signing ceremony held at RAKEZ headquarters in Ras Al Khaimah.

Hes Pro Foods will be producing mayonnaise and other products, which will be distributed to Hesburger outlets scattered throughout the GCC, from RAKEZ’s Al Hamra Industrial Zone.

Gladkih said: “Right now, we have several of our franchisees across GCC and we are planning to continue our expansion in the region. To support this mission and to maintain the quality of food we serve to our franchisees, we have decided to establish a manufacturing base for our mayonnaise and other sauces – which are our key ingredients made from secret recipes.”

He added: “Our Finnish and Emirati partners recommended RAKEZ as an ideal place to set up Hes Pro Foods due to its cost-effectiveness as well as excellent transport links that allow food manufacturers to easily move products from the UAE to the rest of the region.”

Jallad said: “Hesburger has been in the business for almost 40 years now and is currently one of the most successful burger joints in Europe. We are glad that such a renowned F&B industry player chose to establish its regional manufacturing arm with us, which will be producing the fast food chain’s secrets to success.”

He added: Hes Pro Foods is a great addition to our bustling community of over 600 manufacturers operating at our industrial zones – all of which we support by providing a range of fit-for-purpose industrial infrastructure and premier support services.”
