Etihad Rail provides update of stage two

Etihad Rail, operating under the guidance of His Highness Sheikh Theyab bin Mohamed Al Nahyan, Member of the Executive Council, Chairman of Etihad Rail, participated at the Middle East Rail Exhibition and Conference 2019 as Strategic Government Partner alongside the UAE Ministry of Infrastructure Development and the Federal Transport Authority Land & Maritime.

Etihad Rail shared details of its outstanding progress in preparing for the launch of stage two of the network as well as highlighting recent accomplishments and current developments.

With Stage Two moving forward, Etihad rail is continuing its leading role of supporting the UAE’s vision of achieving economic growth and social development, while contributing to the long-term growth of the national economy by completing the ground-breaking project on schedule and within budget.

PMC & Engineering Contracts have been awarded for the development and supervision of Stage Two from Ghuweifat to Fujairah.

The company has taken further significant steps by signing a Head of Terms with Abu Dhabi Ports to connect Khalifa Port with the Etihad Rail network.

A Head of Terms has been signed with ZonesCorp to establish vital railway and logistics facilities within the Industrial City of Abu Dhabi (ICAD). This is in addition to signing important MoUs and agreements in preparation for Stage Two commencement, which will be followed by announcements of contracts awarded for civil works and construction
