DAFZA reports growing influx of automotive companies

The Dubai Airport Freezone Authority (DAFZA) has announced continued growth in the number of automotive, car parts and accessories companies within the free zone.

The announcement was made during Automechanika Dubai 2018, in which DAFZA is the lead free zone sponsor of the 16th edition and is also exhibiting with a stand, No. C12 located in Hall 2 of the exhibition. The event, which specialises in automotive, automobile parts, and accessories, is being hosted at Dubai World Trade Centre from 1 – 3 May 2018.

DAFZA’s sponsorship and participation of the event aims to shed light on the range of excellent services it provides to companies working in the automobile, cars, and parts sector. The free zone is highlighting the commercial benefits to foreign investors who choose DAFZA to launch their businesses and the facilities it offers at various levels from licenses and permits to government services.

Abdulaziz Ahmed Al Hammadi, senior manager of marketing at DAFZA, emphasised the importance of sponsoring the conference in light of DAFZA’s year on year success in drawing key foreign investors and major global companies. He commented: “DAFZA seeks to reach these target audiences of foreign investors through our participation at such events. We are showcasing and demonstrating our key investment services and solutions that make DAFZA the ideal gateway to foreign investors to enter local markets then expand to regional markets.”

He added: “DAFZA is seeing continued growth in the number of companies in the cars, automobiles and parts sector based in the free zone. There is a great number of companies working in this field that continue to develop their businesses in light of the encouraging investment environment provided by DAFZA. These include Bentley Motors, Sumitomo Rubber Middle East, Kawasaki Heavy Industries, Tata Motors, Audi Volkswagen Middle East, Toyota Motors, Peugeot, and others. This event is a platform that will strengthen relations with our current clients participating in the exhibition and those who seek to enter the market in the near future.”

The exhibition features 25 international pavilions and 36 international trade associations. 90% of exhibitors and 52% of the visitors which are more than 30,000 are expected to come from outside the UAE. Automechanika Dubai covers six product divisions: parts and components, electronics and systems, accessories and customisation, repair and maintenance, car wash, care and refurbishment as well as tires and batteries. It will also feature its famous initiative the Truck Competence, where there are more than 1,500 exhibitors displaying their products.
