SNC-Lavalin has been awarded a contract for the engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) of a petrochemical plant, including its utilities and off-site infrastructure, in the city of Salalah, located in the Sultanate of Oman. The project for Salalah Methanol Company LLC (SMC) is expected to begin in March 2017 with SNC-Lavalin initially performing the early works program, the company said in a statement. Upon financial close, expected in June 2017, SNC-Lavalin will continue with the engineering, procurement of equipment, construction and commissioning of the facility, which will produce anhydrous liquid ammonia using a technology provided by Linde Group. Al-Futtaim has broken ground on a mixed use development in Dubai that combines living, working and entertainment with popular retail brands including Dubai’s second IKEA and an Al Futtaim ACE hardware store. The company plans to expand its retail offering through the development of the new mall, located in Jebel Ali, along the main Abu Dhabi – Dubai Highway.
