Mott MacDonald acquires Wideurope Engineering

Multidisciplinary consultancy, Mott MacDonald, has acquired engineering and design consultancy, Wideurope Engineering.

Wideurope Engineering, Italian-Emirati company, operates primarily in the energy sector providing technical support and professional services in civil, structural and electro-mechanical design.

Mott MacDonald chairman, Keith Howells commented: “Wideurope Engineering has an outstanding reputation with clients and equipment manufacturers all over the world.

“We’ve worked closely together for many years so we understand each other’s strengths and where we can draw on each other’s expertise to best support our clients. Coming together is the next natural progression in our relationship.”

Wideurope’s portfolio features power and desalination plants in the Gulf Cooperation Council and south west Asia, combined cycle power plants in Italy and North Africa and a range of projects in South America and south east Asia.

Keith added: “Adding a base in Genoa will give us access to high quality engineering skills in Italy, while the strong client relationships Wideurope has built will offer new scope to work closely in the global energy sector. We’re excited about exploring wider international opportunities together.”

Regarding Mott Macdonald, the company operates across all sectors of the energy industry, working with national governments, utilities, industrial companies, investors, developers, contractors and funding agencies.
