Dubai Parks and Resorts delays full opening

Four of the six segments that make up the giant Dubai Parks and Resorts theme park in the South of Dubai will be delayed beyond their original opening date of October 31.

Bollywood, Legoland Water Park and the Lapita Hotel will now open on November 15 while movie theme park Motiongate will open December 16, according to a statement.

Legoland and Riverland, the retail dining and entertainment district, will open on October 31 as planned.

Building Dubai Parks and Resorts in the space of just three years has been a huge undertaking with over 100 rides and attractions spread across 25 million square feet of land.

Raed Kajoor Al Nuaimi, CEO of DXB Entertainments PJSC, the owner of Dubai Parks and Resorts, said: “We are focused on delivering a destination which exceeds international standards on every level – from guest experience to state-of-the-art rides and attractions and the highest of safety standards – and we want to make sure we take the time to get everything just right and launch a destination the UAE and our shareholders can be truly proud of. We cannot wait to show our guests everything Dubai Parks and Resorts has to offer from 31st October this year.”
